Yes it was a freebie off Amazon for the Kindle, yes it is a short story, but for a New York Times bestselling author who has many published works I expected more finesse. This was poorly written with terrible spelling and grammar.
The sex scenes bordered on Merrick forcing himself on Nikki, so really didn't like that. It almost smacks of domestic violence, where a partner forces himself on you and you hate yourself for it. The sex needed to be more steamy, a dominant man can be a good thing but this was just bad taste, in my opinion.
I have read some of Ms Bast's work before, but this was truly terrible.
